Joan earned a BA in English at the University of Virginia and an MBA at the University of Miami. She spent 6 years at CIGNA Healthplan of South Florida developing a Human Resource Function and a physician recruitment program for that staff model HMO. Joan also has experience as an adjunct instructor at a local community college, independent HR consultant, and unemployment compensation specialist consultant.

Joan spent the next twelve years as an executive search consultant. After the company closed, she went to work for a former client as Human Resource Manager. Now with Apple & Associates, Joan brings a diverse background of recruiting in the medical device, pharmaceutical and 12 years of experience in recruiting for industrial as well as consumer products manufacturers and in the managed care industry.

Joan lives in Miami with Jerry, her significant other, has two sons and a growing extended family. She enjoys playing tennis, scrap booking and is a beginning golfer.
