Apple & Associates’ VP of West Coast Operations, Debbie Winkelbauer has over twenty years experience in recruiting for a specialized group of pharmaceutical and medical device companies, representing manufacturing plants and research facilities across the U.S. and Mexico. After earning a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, Debbie spent four years at UCSD’s School of Medicine performing clinical research for the Department of Medical Genetics. A move to Seattle lead to a successful pharmaceutical sales record as a representative of Berlex Laboratories where Debbie developed a territory, ranked 3rd in the nation. Returning to Southern California, Debbie spent three years with ISOPS as an executive recruiter, before joining Apple & Associates in 1993.
Debbie and her West Coast partner, Jan Hudson, successfully place candidates at all levels, including PhD scientists, engineers and vice presidents, and all disciplines related to the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, Market Development, Project Management, Program Management, Sales, Human Resources and Supply Chain.
Debbie’s seamless understanding of scientific and technical recruiting for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries is the key to her success in recruiting, screening and placing candidates in the most complex scientific levels.
Debbie, her physician husband, teenage son and daughter live in Del Mar, CA. Her free time is spent outdoors, surfing, snowboarding, backpacking, traveling and volunteering as a high school surf coach.
